The mouth of the Ipswich River

Eastern Red Cedar tree at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, Topsfield, MA. (Paul Mozell)

I have encountered this tree many times at its home in the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. Its multiple trunks, hoop-shaped branches and warm red hue seem to welcome and embrace all visitors.
