About

Paul Mozell is a photographer who wears many hats.

As a nature and landscape photographer his vision is deeply rooted in a lifetime of hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and skiing in the American wilderness. From his home turf in the Boston area, he photographs year-round in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. With hiking gear and a pack full of cameras and lenses, he has recorded the landscapes of New Hampshire's White Mountains, New York's Adirondacks, the Wind River Range of Wyoming, the Rockies of Colorado and Montana, the red-rock territories of Utah and Arizona, and John Muir's Sierras. These images are sold directly to publishers, agencies, and collectors. His credits include over 20 years of contributions to the guidebooks and magazines of the Appalachian Mountain Club, Audubon Magazine and Calendar.

Paul's architectural photography is informed by his landscape and nature work. Paul makes judicious and invisible use of the latest digital imaing techniques such as HDR (High Dynamic Range), to bring color depth and contrast levels very close to what is perceived by the human eye.

Editorial and event photography are among his specialties, drawing on experience as a one-time stringer for United Press and the Associated Press.

Paul's portraits of executives, families, news-makers, and musicians are recognized for their natural and unassuming qualities. Likewise, his wedding photography style is casual and photojournalistic.
