My style is primarily photo-journalistic or documentary in nature. I have found that the best bride & groom photographs are spontaneous, rather than posed. Although we will set up a number of photographs, some of the best images are taken when the couple forgets about the camera. My goal is to blend into the background as much as possible.
When shooting your wedding or family event I call upon my years of experience shooting not only weddings, but portraits, news events, editorial assignments for magazines, corporate events, and nature photography.
Success with the "formal" family shots is often determined by how easily we can get everyone together in the short time available. Everyone wants to be back socializing! You won't find me lining up all the mens shoes pointing in the same direction. I may ask the men to take off their jackets or the bridesmaids to jump in the air or look at each other and grin!
To tell the complete story of your wedding day, consider booking me to spend casual time with the bride & groom on another day. It might be the day we do engagement photos, or another convenient time. Let's take a walk down the beach, a stroll down Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, a walk in the woods, or just around the neighborhood. I'll give you the "star" treatment, shooting as we go, capturing the magic between you, without the pressures of the actual wedding day on your shoulders. The photographs we take will be an important component of your wedding album, helping to convey the fullstory relationship, and of the magical day.
